Growing up & living in the Whisundays, Jeni & Bryce knew that there was no place like home when it came to planning their wedding. Who could resist a dream wedding location such as Earlando. The wedding really had it all, from the rolling hills of the Australian bush to the deep blue sea.
Tell us about the proposal
Both of us are locals to the Whitsundays & we officially met at the Proserpine Metropole Hotel. After that Bryce bought every single newspaper possible to come and visit me where I was working. Bryce decided to propose to me one Christmas morning after exchanging gifts in our lounge room.
Why did you choose Earlando for your destination wedding?
Why wouldn’t you choose Earlando? It is absolutely everything that we wanted in a venue. Gardens, trees, greenery, ocean views, beach, rolling hills, long dirt roads, wildlife, amazing staff, private, relaxed, comfortable, local, open, accommodating… I could go on and on forever!
Key Styling Inspiration
The location, the dress & the teepee – from there we chose flowers and then everything else came together!
What gifts did you give your guests?
Our guests received drink coolers with photos of us printed on them at Earlando.
What did you do for your honeymoon?
We are actually saving our honeymoon for our 1 year anniversary and heading over to Europe!
What was the funniest moment from the day?
For both of us it was definetly the speeches – we were very fortunate to have a wonderful MC who wrote & sang us a song/parody, a best man who wrote us a poem/comedy speech & then Bryce read out a card that I had written to him using cricket terminology – EMBARRASSING!
What was the most special memory from the day?
Can we say the entire weekend? The whole day, every moment! From walking up the hill to see everyone and standing with all our loved ones while our ceremony took place. To going on a photography adventure, to dancing the night away on the D-floor. Bryce singing ‘New York, New York’ and then everyone joining in to sing ‘You’re the Voice’ at the top of their lungs before everyone made a human arch/tunnel for us to run through at the end of the night! Too many memorable moments!
What advice would you give other brides to be?
Relax. Eat. Drink water. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Enjoy every moment!
